2009 Status of Canadian Films

According to the Motion Picture Theatre Associations of Canada, in 2009 Canadians spent $1.01B going to the cinema, and the top-grossing Canadian films were: Emile Gaudreault’s De père en flic (bringing in 10.5M),  Mike Clattenburg’s Trailer Park Boys and Michael McGowan’s One Week.

However, the top-grossing films in Canada were all American: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, $34.4M;  Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, $31.5M; and  The Twilight Saga: New Moon, $28M.
